Ask Me About My Goat: Merry Christmas

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This year for Christmas my husband and I decided to each take $100 and spend it on a charitable source on behalf of each other. We've never done this before. I mean, we're giving people, but $100? Spent on someone we don't know? That's a pretty penny, and yes, $100 can go a long way...

...but I gave away my $100 to online charities within an hour.

With only $1.56 remaining, I've decided that I need a plan. I also realized that I had forgotten to buy one very essential item on my list: a goat.

You see, in certain developing countries, when you buy a goat you are supporting a livelihood. People use goats as currency, sustainability and future investments. The income a goat generates creates self-sufficiency, self-esteem and educational opportunities for recipients and their families.

And so, I've decided I should, nay, I WILL, put my pride on the line and, with the help of my fellow citizens, I will raise the money necessary for my goat.

At least I hope so.
